Samatha Bed & Breakfast

Rooms at Samatha Bed & Breakfast range from a 25 m² suite with a king bed to rooms with a city view or a garden view. The rooms can have air conditioning, a shower, toiletries, free bottled water, a mini bar and a balcony or terrace, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

The Deluxe King Suite sleeps up to two guests, and the Deluxe Room and the Standard Balcony each sleep up to three. Children are welcome, and those aged 2 to 8 can stay free using the existing bedding; extra beds depend on the room you choose and incur an additional charge.

The guesthouse has a restaurant, a bar, a coffee shop and a snack bar, with room service, BBQ facilities and public areas that are air-conditioned. Daily housekeeping, laundry and ironing services, luggage storage, safety deposit boxes and currency exchange are also available, and English and Thai are spoken.

Guests can go diving or snorkelling, and tours and ticket services are offered. Free parking is available nearby, and the lounge and garden are shared spaces for all guests to use during the day.

Sairee Beach is the main stretch of sand on Ko Tao, an island in the Gulf of Thailand known for its diving schools. The strip runs along the sand with a mix of small hotels, bars and dive centres, and the guesthouse is 250 m from the beach, in a part where dive shops, cafés and small guesthouses sit close to the water.

Ko Tao has no airport, so the last part of the journey is by boat. The nearest airport is Samui Airport (USM) on Ko Samui, and you cross to Ko Tao by ferry. Around Sairee, the sights are close: the Coconut Viewpoint is 1.2 km away, and the King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) monument stands on a rock 1.3 km away. Koh Nang Yuan, a small island popular with snorkellers, is 2.5 km away and reached by boat.

For a day out, Koh Nang Yuan is a common choice for snorkelling trips, and tours can be arranged at the guesthouse, which is a convenient place to book one before heading down to the sand. Back on the sand at Sairee, the evening is for a drink at the bar, a meal in the restaurant or a stroll along the beach.
