Samaraya Wellness Resort

The 100 m² villas, the Pool Villa, the Garden Pool Villa, the Sea View Villa and the Ocean View Villa, each sleep up to two guests, and their views are sea, garden and ocean. The Pool Villa, the Garden Pool Villa and the Sea View Villa have a king bed, and their bathrooms come with bathrobes, toiletries, towels and a hair dryer.

Some villas have further features: the Garden Pool Villa has a sauna and open-air bath privileges, and the Sea View Villa and the Ocean View Villa have private beach access. The Suite, the Sea View Pool Villa, the Beachfront Pool Villa and the Seaview pool Villa sleep up to three guests.

The resort has an outdoor swimming pool, a private beach, a fitness centre and a spa with a sauna and steam room. Massage, a hot tub, body scrub, body wrap, foot bath and light therapy are also offered at the spa, and there is a yoga room too.

Guests can book an airport transfer before check-in, and a shuttle service is available. Free parking is available on site, and there is bicycle parking. The 24-hour front desk offers concierge service and luggage storage.

Dining includes à la carte, Asian and Western cuisine, a poolside bar, a snack bar and 24-hour room service. Laundry, dry cleaning and ironing service are offered, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

Samaraya Wellness Resort is in Nathon, the main town and ferry port of Koh Samui, which feels calmer than the beach strips of Chaweng and Lamai. Everyday shops, a cash point and a clinic are close to the resort, and the bus station is nearby as well.

The temple Wat Samuthra Ram, a Buddhist pagoda, is 500 m away, and the Samui Monkey Center zoo, which is built around monkeys, is 1.4 km away. Nathon Pier, the island's ferry pier, is 2.5 km away. Na Muang Waterfall, in the island's interior, is 7.7 km away, and Big Buddha, the large statue on a hill above Bophut, is 15.2 km away.

A full day could take in the temple near the resort, the Coconut Museum and the monkey zoo in Nathon, then move on to Na Muang Waterfall in the interior and the Big Buddha on its hill. Afterwards, guests can return to the resort for the spa, the pool or the private beach, and eat at the restaurants or the poolside bar in the evening. Nathon works well as a base for exploring the island's temples and waterfalls, with the nearest sights visited first and the farther ones later in the day.
