Rueang Sri Siri Guesthouse

The rooms at Rueang Sri Siri Guesthouse range from bunk beds in mixed dormitories to family rooms, double rooms and a room with a king bed. Several overlook the courtyard, one has a garden view and another has a nature view. The dormitory rooms have a shared bathroom with a shower, while some other rooms have a private bathroom with a shower and toiletries.

Several rooms have air conditioning, a flat-screen TV, blackout curtains or a fan, and free bottled water is provided in some of them. Room sizes range from 18 to 30 m², and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms.

There is free parking on site, along with bicycle parking, and free Wi-Fi covers all rooms. To get around, the guesthouse offers an airport transfer, a shuttle service, car hire, bicycle rental and a taxi service.

Rueang Sri Siri Guesthouse is in Sukhothai City, the modern town that grew up beside the ruins of the old capital. The streets around it are those of a working Thai town rather than a resort area, with a pharmacy and bank machines close by, and the Lotus market and Sukhothai Hospital within a few kilometres. The bus terminal is 50 m away, so coach arrivals reach the guesthouse on foot.

The main reason to come to Sukhothai is the historical park, the ancient capital of the Sukhothai kingdom and a UNESCO World Heritage site, which lies 11.5 km from the guesthouse. Its temples, including Wat Maha That, the central temple of the park, are spread over a wide area, so bicycle rental and car hire, both offered by the guesthouse, are practical ways to get around. The Sangkhalok Museum, 2.5 km away, displays the ceramics of the Sukhothai era, and Si Satchanalai Historical Park, another ancient site, makes a longer excursion.

A day can start at the historical park and end back in town at the walking street night market, 950 m from the guesthouse, which runs in the evening. Sukhothai Airport, 24.2 km away, is the closest airport for those flying in.
