Rakkawan Residence Khaolak

The rooms at Rakkawan Residence Khaolak measure 22 to 67 m², and several of them look out on mountains or countryside. The Family Suite has a partial sea view. Rooms can have a coffee and tea maker, an electric kettle, a refrigerator, an in-room safe, blackout curtains and a desk.

Some rooms sleep two guests, the Family Suite sleeps up to four, and the Standard Room, the Superior Triple Room and the Superior Room each sleep up to three. The Family Suite also has a whirlpool bathtub alongside its partial sea view, and the Superior Double Bed and the Superior Triple Room look out on the countryside.

Khao Lak is a stretch of coast on Thailand's Andaman side in Phangnga province, where long beaches run beside forested hills. The area was badly hit by the 2004 tsunami, and a memorial and a museum now stand on the coast, so the local history is easy to see. Long beaches, small villages and forested hills sit close together here, and Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park is close by.

The sights are spread along the coast road, so a car or taxi is the easiest way to reach them. Hat Bang Niang Viewpoint, 2.4 km away, gives a view over the coast, and the Tsunami Museum, 2.6 km away, tells the story of the 2004 disaster. Bang Niang Market is a local market with food and everyday goods, and it makes an easy stop on the way back.

A good day could start with a swim at the hotel, continue with a walk in Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park among the trees, and end at Sunset Beach, 1.5 km away, for the evening light. Phuket International Airport is 59.5 km away, and the coast road links the hotel with the beaches, the viewpoints and the national park. Several of these sights can be reached in a single day from the hotel.
