Railay Phutawan Resort

The rooms at Railay Phutawan Resort range from garden-view rooms to a sea-view room and a jacuzzi suite with a whirlpool bathtub. Room sizes run from 19 to 38 m², and most rooms have a garden view. Some rooms have a balcony, and family rooms sleep up to four guests.

Several rooms have a private bathroom with a shower, and rooms can have air conditioning, a mini bar, a refrigerator, an electric kettle and free bottled water. Bathrobes and toiletries are provided in several rooms, some rooms have a bathtub, and rooms can also have a hair dryer, satellite or cable channels and a TV.

The resort has an outdoor swimming pool and a children's swimming pool, along with a garden and a terrace. Restaurants, a bar, a poolside bar, a coffee shop and room service are available, and buffet breakfast is served with Asian, continental and halal breakfast choices.

Guests can arrange tours, diving, snorkelling, canoeing, hiking and fishing, and the resort offers an airport transfer and a shuttle service. There is also a taxi service, luggage storage, daily housekeeping, dry cleaning, babysitting, and meeting and banquet facilities. Public areas are air-conditioned, and Wi-Fi and internet services are available there too. The terrace and garden add outdoor space around the pools, and the two swimming pools sit within the grounds.

Railay is a limestone peninsula on the Andaman coast of Krabi, where steep cliffs rise above the sand and rock climbing is a major pursuit. Boats are the usual way onto the peninsula, with piers at Railay West and Ton Sai Beach, and the resort is on the Railay side, among the cliffs and beaches. The peninsula is small, so the beaches sit within a short distance of one another, and the cliffs behind them draw climbers.

Railay Beach is 500 m from the resort, and Phra Nang Cave, a beach framed by limestone cliffs, is 1.1 km away. Ao Nang Beach, the long beach beside the Ao Nang village, is 2.1 km away, and Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), reached by steps up a limestone hill, is further afield. Railay Beach is the nearest of these, and the rock formations along the shore make the short walk between them worth taking.

A day could combine a boat trip to the Hong Islands with an afternoon on Railay Beach, or a visit to the Krabi Weekend Night Market in town. Krabi International Airport is 18 km from the resort, and the last part of the journey to Railay is by boat.
