The area mixes residential streets, local markets and neighbourhood temples, and the historic centre, which is much further away, is a longer trip.

Hua Takhe Old Market is 600 m from the hotel, and the Catholic Church of Our Lady of Lourdes sits in the same neighbourhood. Wat Phon Mani, a Buddhist pagoda, lies about 1000 m away, and the Suvarnabhumi Flea Market is roughly 1.2 km off. The Hua Takhe train station is 1.3 km from the resort, and the nearby lanes and markets give a glimpse of everyday life in the district.

A day here could begin at Wat Phon Mani and the Hua Takhe Old Market, then carry on to the Suvarnabhumi Flea Market in the afternoon. The Grand Palace and Wat Arun are a longer trip across the city, so it makes sense to plan them as a separate day. Further afield, the Jim Thompson House, a museum set around traditional Thai houses, and the riverside complex of Asiatique make a full day with the old city, and the Chatuchak Weekend Market, one of the largest weekend markets in Bangkok, is the other major market to plan around.
