Wat Pluk Sattha, a pagoda, is a short walk away, and the Suvarnabhumi Bus Terminal serves onward journeys from the airport area. Reaching the big sights takes time: the Grand Palace is 30.6 km away and the Chatuchak Weekend Market is 25.6 km away, so they are better reached on a dedicated day out. The temples of Wat Arun and Wat Phra Chetuphon stand on the Chao Phraya river, close to the Grand Palace in the old city.

A good day here could start at the Suvarnabhumi Flea Market and the Hua Takhe Old Market, both close to the hotel, before taking public transport into central Bangkok to see the temples along the river, such as Wat Arun. Khaosan Road, with its street life, is a lively place to end the evening.
