The village also has a fresh fruit and vegetable stall and a local pier, so everyday errands are simple to manage on foot. The bay and its few small beaches make a quiet setting, and the garden and terrace of the hotel are good places to spend the afternoon.

Chaloklum Bay Beach is the closest stretch of sand, and Ao Hin Ngam Beach lies about 950 m away. Wat Chaloklum, a temple, is around 750 m off, and the Phangan Safari zoo is about 1.4 km away. Wang Sai Waterfall lies further inland. Samui Airport is about 27.6 km away on the neighbouring island of Ko Samui, so the last part of the journey to the island is by boat.

A good day here starts with a swim in the bay, followed by a walk to Wat Chaloklum and a visit to the inland zoo. Diving and snorkelling are popular in the waters off Chaloklum, and the village pier is where the local boats come and go.
