The Big Buddha, 3.1 km away, is a large white statue on a hilltop, and Wat Chalong, 4.6 km away, is one of the island's most revered temples. Phuket International Airport, 29.2 km away, is the island's main airport, and the last stretch of the journey is by road.

A full day can combine the Big Buddha with a visit to Wat Chalong, followed by a stroll through the Karon Temple Market and an evening at the night market. Kata Beach is an easy addition to a beach day, and Phuket FantaSea, a cultural theme park with an evening show, makes a good evening outing.
