All rooms measure 32 m² and include free Wi-Fi. Depending on the room, they sleep two or three guests and have air conditioning or a fan, and some have a private bathroom with a shower. Several rooms have a city view, while others have a window, a desk or a refrigerator.

Rooms can also include a mini bar, a refrigerator, an in-room safe box and satellite or cable channels, depending on the room. Telephones and flat-screen televisions are fitted in some rooms, and free bottled water is provided in others. The hotel's rooms all share the same floor size, so the choice comes down to the bed set-up and the view. Room service is offered at the hotel.

Chaweng is the busiest stretch of Koh Samui's east coast, a long sandy beach with a dense row of restaurants, bars and shops behind it. Panupong Hotel is in the Chaweng area itself, so the evening crowds, the shopping and the nightlife are close at hand, and the quieter corners of the island are a different kind of stay.

Central Festival Samui, the shopping centre, is 100 m away, and the Night Market and the Walking Street are both nearby. Chaweng Yai Beach is 600 m away. Further afield, the Big Buddha, the large seated statue in Bophut, is 4.2 km away, and Samui Airport (USM) is 1.7 km away. The island's ferry terminals at Bangrak and Lamtaen are also nearby, since both piers are a short distance from the hotel.

A full day can start with the Big Buddha and Wat Plai Laem, the temple known for its large Guanyin statue on the lake, and continue to Lamai Beach, a longer sweep of sand further down the coast. Na Muang Waterfall, 10.5 km away, is the inland choice for a walk through the forest, away from the beach strip. Lamai Beach and Chaweng Noi Beach offer other stretches of sand further along the coast.
