Bang Niang Beach is 1.1 km away, and the International Tsunami Museum, 750 m off, tells the story of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami that struck this coast. Bangnieng Afternoon Market is close by, with local food and everyday goods, and Ton Chong Fa Waterfall lies 3.5 km away. Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park is 4.1 km away for forest walks, and Similan National Park, 9.8 km away, is an island chain reached by boat.

A good day here combines the beach with a walk in the national park, where the forest trails are an easy outing from town.
