Long Beach, 1.2 km away, is a longer stretch of sand, and Monkey Beach, at 1.7 km, is known for the monkeys that live there.

A good day trip is a walk to Long Beach and back, followed by a boat trip to Viking Cave, 5.2 km away, known for the swiftlets' nests on its walls. The garden and the shared lounge at the hostel are a good place to rest between outings, with a large screen TV in the lounge. Krabi International Airport is about 46 km away on the mainland, so the boat from the mainland is the last stage of the journey.
