Snorkelling in the clear waters of the Andaman Sea is the main draw of the island, and boat trips to the nearby bays and islands leave from the piers. Krabi International Airport is 46.1 km away on the mainland, and the last stretch of any journey to Ko Phi Phi is made by boat. The sea can be rough in the rainy months, and that can disrupt boat trips.
