Old City Guest House

The rooms at Old City Guest House have air conditioning and flat-screen TVs with satellite and cable channels, and their private bathrooms come with a shower and toiletries. Beds range from a double or king bed to two or three single beds, and the deluxe family room sleeps up to four guests. Several rooms look onto the courtyard, and some have a dining table, a coffee and tea maker or free bottled water.

The streets around it have small guesthouses and hotels rather than large resorts, and the guesthouse is a base for days spent among the ruins.

Sukhothai Historical Park is 450 m away, and Wat Maha That, one of the best-known temples in the park, is 500 m away. The Ramkhamhaeng National Museum is 250 m from the guesthouse, with displays on the history of the Sukhothai kingdom, and Wat Sa Si, a temple with a Sri Lankan-style chedi, is 700 m away. The nearest airport is Sukhothai Airport, 26.6 km away.

Bicycle rental is offered at the guesthouse, which is a practical way to cover the distances between the temples of the park. The ruins are spread over a wide area, so a full day usually means cycling between the main temples and the museum. Muang Kao Market is close by for everyday goods and snacks, and in the evening the Night Market, with its food stalls, is also close to the guesthouse. The guesthouse is a convenient place to return to after a day among the ruins.
