Railay, reached by boat, lies about 5.2 km away across the bay, with its limestone cliffs and Phra Nang Cave. Wat Tham Suea, better known as Tiger Cave Temple, is about 12 km away, and a long staircase climbs the hillside there to a shrine above the valley. Boat trips from Ao Nang also reach Poda and Tup islands, and the Hong Islands are further out.

Krabi International Airport is about 16.4 km away, and the hotel offers an airport transfer. Back in town, the night markets sell street food and souvenirs, and the piers along the bay are where the boat trips to Railay and the islands leave. Ao Nang also works as a base for day trips, with boats to the islands and limestone bays leaving from the piers in the area.
