Nang Thong Bay Resort

Every room at Nang Thong Bay Resort has air conditioning. The rooms include two 38 m² rooms with garden views, a 32 m² Deluxe Bungalow with Sea View, a 32 m² Bungalow with Garden View and a 70 m² Family Room. Several rooms have a bathtub, and each one has a private bathroom with a shower.

Every room also has a flat-screen TV, a hair dryer and an electric kettle. The garden-view rooms look out on the garden, and the Deluxe Bungalow looks out on the sea. The rooms sleep between four and seven guests, and each one has its own bathroom.

The resort has an outdoor swimming pool and a children's swimming pool, along with a garden and a terrace. Dining covers a restaurant, a bar and room service, and the resort also offers luggage storage, lockers and a laundry service.

Transport is covered by an airport transfer and a shuttle service, so travel from the airport can be arranged through the resort. Free parking is available, and the public areas also have Wi-Fi.

Rooms can have a balcony or terrace, fruit and snacks, an in-room safe box and a coffee or tea maker. Baby cots are available on request, and air conditioning covers the public areas as well as the rooms.

Khao Lak is a coastal area on Thailand's Andaman coast in Phangnga province, with a long sandy beach lined by resorts and guesthouses. Much of the area's life is built around the beach, with small resorts and guesthouses set back from the sand. Nang Thong Beach is 50 m from the resort, and the hills and forest of the national parks lie close inland, so a stay here can combine the sea with forest walks.

The Kuan Yin sanctuary is next to the resort, and the Tsunami Memorial, which marks the 2004 tsunami that struck this coast, is 400 m away. Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, 2.2 km away, has forest trails and waterfalls, and the Tsunami Museum, with its exhibits on the 2004 wave, is 2.6 km away.

A day can combine the trails and waterfalls of the national park with the tsunami museum in the afternoon, and both the museum and the memorial focus on the 2004 disaster, so the visit can be a serious one and a good way to learn about the coast. The Similan National Park, 7.9 km away, is an island park known for its reefs and diving, and the islands are reached by boat.
