Motive Cottage Resort

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms at Motive Cottage Resort, and the rooms have pool, garden or city views. Depending on the room, rooms can have air conditioning, a private bathroom with a shower and toiletries, a hair dryer, a telephone and a television.

Several rooms measure 38 or 42 m² and sleep up to three guests. Some of the rooms have a balcony or terrace that overlooks the pool, and others have a view of the garden or the city, so the outlook changes with the room you book.

The resort has an outdoor swimming pool, a spa with sauna and a 24-hour front desk. Restaurants, a bar and room service are on site, and breakfast can be taken à la carte, in Asian style or as a buffet.

Motive Cottage Resort sits in the Bang Niang area of Khao Lak, on the Andaman coast of Phangnga province in southern Thailand. Bang Niang Beach is 1.1 km away and Khuk Khak Beach is 1.5 km away, so the sea is close at hand for a swim or a stroll along the sand. The area mixes beach life with small local shops and village streets, and the 2004 tsunami hit this stretch of coast hard, leaving memorials along the coast.

The International Tsunami Museum is 250 m away, and the Bangnieng Afternoon Market is an easy stroll from the resort. The Tsunami Memorial is 350 m away, and Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, with its forest trails and waterfalls, is a common day trip from the area. Khao Lak's sights sit close to one another, so several of them fit into a single day.

Phuket International Airport is 62.3 km away, and the resort is reached from there by road. For a full day, combine the tsunami museum and the memorials with a trip into the national park, then spend the afternoon at the beach. Bang Niang Beach and Khuk Khak Beach are the closest stretches of sand to the resort, so a beach afternoon is easy to fit in. The Similan Islands, known for diving, are reached by boat from the mainland coast, so they make a separate day out.
