A good day could start with a swim at Chaweng Yai Beach, followed by a visit to the Big Buddha in the afternoon and an evening at the walking street. Since the main sights are spread across the island, a scooter, a car or a songthaew is the usual way to get around. Most of the evening life is concentrated along the walking street, which stays busy until late, and the long beach is the centre of the area's life.
