Several temples and beaches sit within a short drive of Karon, so a single outing can combine a temple visit with a swim. Evenings suit the night market, where the stalls sell food and everyday goods. Karon Beach itself is the place for a long walk along the sand, and Kata Beach is the neighbouring beach for a change of scene.
