Surat Thani Railway Station is 11.8 km away and Surat Thani Airport 20.6 km, so the airport is the longest part of the trip for most arrivals. Wat Phra Borommathat Chaiya Worawihan, a historic temple in Chaiya, is 31.3 km away.

A good day could start at the Tapee River Viewpoint, continue with a walk through the town to the shrine and the temples, and end at the night market. For a longer trip, the historic temple at Chaiya makes a full day out from the town.
