The rooms at Mantra Samui Resort include garden-view and ocean-view rooms and suites, as well as the Wow Apartment and the Samui Garden View Suite. Several rooms have a private bathroom with bathrobes, a hair dryer and toiletries, and the Samui Ocean View Suite has a whirlpool bathtub.

The area keeps the character of a working fishing community, with newer hotels and beach bars along the coast, and it suits guests who want the sea close at hand in a village setting.

Fisherman's Village, 1.8 km away, is a restored fishing village with a lively walking street and shops. Wat Bo Phut, a pagoda in the village, is 1.9 km away, and the Big Buddha, a large Buddha statue on a hilltop, is 5.1 km away. Samui Airport lies 5.3 km away, and the island's road network links the village with the airport, Chaweng and the other beaches, so a car or scooter helps for trips beyond the village.

A good day could begin on Bo Phut Beach and continue to Wat Bo Phut, then finish in the evening at Fisherman's Village. The Pink Elephant Water Park is close by as well, a short contrast to the beach. For a fuller day out, Na Muang Waterfall lies inland on the island and makes a good trip for those with a car or scooter.
