MAI Place by Aforetime

Accommodation at MAI Place by Aforetime includes dormitory beds in mixed and men-only rooms, as well as private studios, a suite and an apartment. Many rooms have air conditioning, and several of them look out over the sea, the ocean or the beach. Some rooms come with free bottled water.

The dormitory rooms have shared bathrooms and bunk beds or double beds. The apartment, the suite and two of the studios have a private bathroom with a shower and toiletries. The apartment sleeps up to three guests. Several rooms have blackout curtains and a fan, and some have a mosquito net.

The property has an outdoor swimming pool, a bar and restaurants, and a shared lounge with a TV area. Breakfast can be ordered à la carte, continental, vegetarian or western, and a snack bar and food delivery are also available. A shared kitchen is on site, and there is a poolside bar.

Taling Ngam is a village area on Koh Samui, where a temple, caves and a beach sit close together, and everyday village life goes on around them. Talingngam Beach is about 650 m from MAI Place by Aforetime, so the sand is a short walk away for travellers who want a beach at hand.

Wat Kiri Wongkaram, a temple, is very close to the hostel, and the Taling Ngam Caves are 450 m away. Pang Ka Beach is another stretch of sand nearby, and the Samui Snake Farm and a fish market are also in the wider area. Samui Airport is on the island too, and the property offers an airport transfer.

A first day could start at Talingngam Beach and the caves, then continue to Na Muang Waterfall, 6.3 km away in the island's interior, away from the coast. Lamai Beach is 11.5 km away, and the Big Buddha, at 18.8 km, is a longer trip better kept for a second day. An afternoon on the sand near the hostel is a simple alternative to a full day of sightseeing, and the village's temple and caves make a half-day outing on their own for guests who stay near the coast.
