Mac's Bay Resort

The rooms at Mac's Bay Resort include family rooms with air conditioning, superior rooms with a garden view, a triple room with a sea view, a triple room with a pool view and a beach front room.

Several room types come with air conditioning and a balcony or terrace. The Superior Triple Sea View and the Superior Quadruple Garden View each measure 48 m², and the Triple Pool View measures 55 m². Beds include king, double and single beds, and the rooms sleep between two and four guests, so families and small groups can both find a room that fits their party.

The resort has an outdoor swimming pool, an indoor swimming pool and a children's swimming pool, as well as a garden. It is beachfront, with its own private beach, and the garden sits among the resort's grounds, so guests can walk between the pools and the sea.

The spa offers massage and a sauna, and restaurants and a bar are on site. Diving, snorkelling, tours, bicycle rental and car hire are also offered.

Daily housekeeping and laundry service are offered, free parking is available on site, and free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, with internet access in public areas as well. The garden and the children's swimming pool are also part of the resort's facilities.

Mac's Bay Resort is in Ban Tai, a village on Ko Pha-ngan, the island in the Gulf of Thailand that is reached by ferry from the mainland and from Ko Samui. The beach at Haad Baan Tai is 300 m away, and the resort has its own private beach, so the sea is close for a swim whenever you want one. The island's other beaches are farther afield, and the resort's own stretch of sand is the easiest to reach on foot from the rooms.

The local night market is 150 m from the resort, and Wat Pho, a Buddhist temple, is in the same village area. Further afield, the Phangan Elephant Sanctuary is 3.9 km away, and Thong Nai Pan Yai Beach is 8.5 km away. Samui Airport is 17.5 km away on the neighbouring island of Ko Samui, so the last part of the journey to Ko Pha-ngan is by boat.

A good day could start at the elephant sanctuary and finish on the beach at Haad Baan Tai, or spend the morning at the temple and the afternoon by the sea. In the rainy months the sea can be rougher, and boat trips to and from the island can be affected.
