Phuket International Airport is 14.2 km away, and hiring a car or using taxis is the simplest way to reach the other beaches.

A good day could start on Bang Tao Beach, continue south to the Big Buddha, a white statue on a hilltop, and end at the Bang Tao Night Market back on the west coast. For the nightlife of Patong, the trip is longer, so it is best planned as a separate evening, while Bang Tao suits a quieter day at the beach.
