Lub Sbuy Hostel

The rooms at Lub Sbuy Hostel run from mixed dormitory bunks for one guest to double, queen, twin and triple rooms. Some have a private bathroom and others share one, and several have a city view. The rooms measure 15 to 25 m² and sleep one to three guests.

Towels, a hair dryer and toiletries come with several rooms, and some rooms have air conditioning, a balcony or terrace, or a desk.

The hostel has a 24-hour front desk, a garden, a terrace and a shared lounge and TV area. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and Wi-Fi also reaches the public areas. Languages spoken include English, Chinese (Mandarin) and Thai.

Lub Sbuy Hostel is on Phangnga Road in Phuket Town, the island's provincial capital, where streets of shophouses and Sino-Portuguese architecture give the area an older, more local feel than the beach resorts. Temples and shrines sit on the side streets, and the beaches of the west coast are a drive away rather than a walk.

The Phuket Town Local Bus Station (Terminal 1) is 100 m from the hostel, and the Lard Yai Sunday Night Market, with its weekly evening stalls, is 800 m away. The Peranakan Museum, which shows the history of the Peranakan Chinese community, and Baan Chinpracha, a Sino-Portuguese merchant house, are nearby in the old town. Talad Kaset, a fresh food market, is also nearby. Patong Beach is 11.2 km away and Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong) is 7.8 km away.

A good day could start with the old town's shophouses and museums on foot, then head south to Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), one of the best-known temples on the island, before returning to town for dinner. Phuket International Airport (HKT) is 27.2 km away, and an airport transfer is offered at the hostel. The hostel's garden and terrace give guests a place to sit outside between outings after a day in town.
