A good day out combines the beach at Thong Nai Pan Yai with the temples nearer to town, and the Chinese temple is also in the area, alongside several churches and a mosque, so the sightseeing has plenty of variety. The ferry pier in Thong Sala serves the neighbouring islands and the mainland, and Samui Airport, 19 km away on Koh Samui, means the last stage of any journey from it is by boat.
