Kulab Room is set in the town itself, close to the market stalls and the boats at the pier. A medical clinic and a hospital are both within the town, and several Muay Thai gyms are close by, so the practical side of island life is easy to reach.

The Ko Pha-ngan Pier, the island's main ferry terminal, is 1.5 km away. Ao Bang Charu beach is 1 km away, and Phantip Market, a local market for food and everyday goods, is 950 m away. The Diamond Muay Thai gym is a short distance away, and the Phangan Elephant Sanctuary is a further stop for a day trip.

The nearest airport is Samui Airport, 20.1 km away on Ko Samui, and the last stretch to Ko Pha-ngan is by boat, as the island has no bridge, so plan the arrival day with that in mind. A day out can start at the market in Thong Sala, then go on to Ao Bang Charu beach in the afternoon, with the Phangan Elephant Sanctuary as a day trip for the next day.
