Wat Plai Laem, a temple with a large Guanyin statue, is also worth a visit, and Na Muang Waterfall lies inland in the island's hills.

A practical day could begin with a swim at Chaweng Yai Beach, continue with a visit to the Big Buddha and Wat Plai Laem, and end with an evening walk along the Walking Street. The Samui Crocodile Farm, a zoo for a day out, is another choice for those who want something different from the beach.
