Light Khao Lak Resort

The rooms at Light Khao Lak Resort can have air conditioning, a private bathroom with a shower, toiletries and a hair dryer, and some have a balcony or terrace. Several rooms face the garden, views include the pool and the garden, and the family rooms sleep up to four guests.

Bang Niang Beach is a stretch of sand on Thailand's Andaman coast, in the Khao Lak area of Phangnga province, and the resort is set close to it. The resort is on Petchkasem Road, the road through the area, so it is easy to reach by road. Inland, the hills of the national park hold several waterfalls, so the area combines beach days with time in the forest.

The International Tsunami Museum, 1.1 km away, recalls the 2004 tsunami that struck this coast, and the Bang Niang market sits in the village nearby. Nang Thong Beach, 1.8 km away, is another stretch of sand close by. Ton Chong Fa Waterfall, 4.8 km away, is one of the falls in the hills, while Similan National Park, 10.5 km away, is reached by boat and its islands are known for diving.

A day could begin on Bang Niang Beach, continue to the Tsunami Museum and the Bang Niang market, and end at Ton Chong Fa Waterfall. The Similan Islands need a boat, and sailings depend on the season and the weather at sea, so that outing is best planned on its own. For the walk to the sand, the beach is the easiest starting point, since the resort lies close to it.
