Leelawadee Resort

The rooms at Leelawadee Resort measure between 16 and 25 m² and offer king, double, single and twin bed set-ups. Two rooms have a garden view and two have a balcony or terrace. Family rooms sleep up to three guests, and a few have a refrigerator or a telephone.

Leelawadee Resort is in Muang Kao, a sub-district of Mueang Sukhothai district, where the modern town meets the ruins of the ancient capital. Most visitors come to Sukhothai for its historical park, a UNESCO World Heritage site of ruined temples and palaces from the 13th-century kingdom, and the resort lies close to its temples. The town is small, and its main sights are close to one another, so the area is easy to explore on foot or by bicycle.

Wat Saphan Hin, on a hill, is 750 m from the resort and has a large standing Buddha, while Wat Sri Chum has a massive seated Buddha figure. The Ramkhamhaeng National Museum holds artefacts from the Sukhothai kingdom, and the Night Market and Muang Kao Market offer everyday food and goods in town. Sukhothai Airport is 27.3 km away, so guests arriving by air will continue by road.

The ruins are spread across a wide park, so a full day can start with Wat Saphan Hin and Wat Sri Chum, continue to Wat Sa Si and the Ramkhamhaeng National Museum, and end back in Muang Kao at the Night Market. Guests who prefer a slower afternoon can stay at the resort, which has its own car park and bicycle rental.
