Lawana Resort

The rooms at Lawana Resort are set among the gardens, with garden views in most of them and a pool view in one. Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms, and the accommodation covers a wide mix of layouts, from garden bungalows and connecting family rooms to two-bedroom villas and bungalows with pools. Rooms can also have air conditioning, a refrigerator and a balcony or terrace.

Most bathrooms have a shower, toiletries and a hair dryer, and several rooms add a bathtub. Some rooms have a second bedroom, and the Deluxe Bungalow with Private Pool offers its guests a private pool of their own.

Lawana Resort is in Bo Phut, a bay-side district of Koh Samui where a traditional fishing village meets the island's beach life. The wider island has long beaches, temples and waterfalls, and the resort has a private beach of its own, so guests can swim without leaving the grounds. Much of the stay can happen on the resort itself, with the pools and the private beach a short walk from the rooms.

Bo Phut Beach is 200 m away, and Fisherman's Village, 1.2 km off, is a lane of old wooden shophouses and small shops by the water. Maenam Beach runs along the island's coast, and the Big Buddha, a large seated statue on a hill, is 4.4 km away. Samui Airport is on the island itself, 4.9 km from the resort, and the resort offers an airport transfer and a shuttle service to the city centre.

A good day could start at the Big Buddha and continue to Wat Plai Laem, a temple with a large Guanyin statue, before an evening stroll around Fisherman's Village. For a change of scene, Na Muang Waterfall lies in the island's interior, surrounded by forest, and Lompraya Pier is nearby for boats, so the day can easily combine a waterfall with the coast.
