Lanta Castaway Beach Resort

The accommodation at Lanta Castaway Beach Resort is made up of bungalows and double rooms, with some offering a sea view and others a garden view. Beds run from a single king bed to two queen beds, and a sofa bed or a single bed is available in some of the rooms.

Most rooms have air conditioning, and several have a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, a flat-screen TV, satellite and cable channels, a telephone and an electric kettle. Some rooms sleep up to five guests, so groups can stay together, while the bungalows with a garden view sleep up to four.

The resort has free parking and free Wi-Fi in all rooms, and there is an airport transfer. Restaurants, a bar, a coffee shop and room service cover the food and drink side, and a food delivery service is also offered.

Pra Ae Beach is on Koh Lanta, an island in Krabi province on the Andaman Sea, reached by boat from the mainland. The resort is 320 m from the beach, in an area that mixes beach resorts with small local shops. Within a few hundred metres there is a Muay Thai academy, a sports complex and a Thai spa, along with a medical clinic and a 7 Eleven.

Long Beach is close to the resort, and the island's other stretches of sand are within a few kilometres. Lanta Old Town, the island's old town, is 9.8 km away, and Mu Ko Lanta National Park, 15.8 km from the resort, is a marine park of islands and beaches. Krabi International Airport is 55.9 km away on the mainland, so the trip to the island always ends with a boat, and the resort is a short way from the sand.

A day here could begin with a swim at Long Beach and continue with a visit to Lanta Old Town in the afternoon. Another day could be spent on a boat trip to Mu Ko Lanta National Park. In the rainy season, rough seas can stop boat trips to the islands, so plans may need to change.
