Karon Beach is 4 km away and offers a quieter stretch of sand, with Kata Beach further on. Big Buddha Phuket, the large hilltop statue, is 7.7 km away, and Wat Chalong, one of the island's most important temples, is also a day trip from here.

Phuket International Airport is 24.1 km away, and the road from the airport crosses the island to Patong. Taxis and rented cars are common in the area, and in the evening the Banzaan Fresh Market, a night market, is a good place to eat and browse. A full day could combine a morning on Patong Beach, an afternoon at Big Buddha or Wat Chalong, and an evening on Bangla Road. The beach, the shopping and the nightlife are all in Patong itself, so there is no need to move between towns.
