Ao Nang Beach, 1.5 km away, is the main beach of the town, with tour boats running from the sand. Krabi International Airport is 19.9 km away.

The Ao Nang Night Market is 1.2 km away, with food stalls and shops that open in the evening. Railay Beach, 4.6 km away, is reached only by longtail boat and is known for its limestone cliffs, with Phra Nang Cave nearby. Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), 15.6 km away, is a hillside temple reached by a long staircase.

A good day here starts with a longtail boat from the piers of Ao Nang to Railay, or to the islands of Poda and Tup, and ends with a walk to the night market for street food. Evenings can also be spent at a Thai boxing show, since the Krabi Thai Boxing Stadium is close by.
