The coast around it is still fairly low-key compared with the resort strip at Ao Nang, and the sea is close to the village streets. Its streets are lined with small shops and simple guesthouses, and the pace is slower than in the resort towns.

Krabi More Hotel is about 470 m from the beach, and the Klong Muang Sunday and Tuesday Market is a few hundred metres away. Ao Nang Beach, 6.5 km away, is the main beach resort area on this stretch of coast, with boat tours and a range of shops. Railay Beach, 9.3 km away, is reached by boat, and the Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), 19.7 km away, is a hillside temple complex with a large golden Buddha.

A full day from the hotel can combine a boat trip to Railay with a visit to the Tiger Cave Temple or a stroll along the Ao Nang seafront. Boat trips to the islands leave from the Noppharat Thara Pier, 4.2 km away. Because the beaches are spread along the coast, a taxi or a rented car is the easiest way to reach the more distant ones.
