Kool Backpacker hostel

Accommodation at Kool Backpacker hostel is in dormitories, each measuring 18 m² and fitted with air conditioning, bunk beds and a shared bathroom with shower.

Three of the dormitories are mixed and one is female only, and the bathroom and shower facilities are shared by the guests in each room.

The hostel has a bar and a coffee shop on site, and a massage service is available. Tours can be arranged, bicycles can be rented, and there is an airport transfer. A laundry service is offered, as are safety deposit boxes.

The front desk is open 24 hours, and English and Thai are spoken by the staff. Internet access is available in the public areas, and the rooms are fitted with air conditioning and a shared bathroom with a shower.

The hostel is on Bangla Road in Patong, the best-known resort town on Phuket. The street fills up after dark with bars, clubs and street stalls, and it is the centre of the town's nightlife. During the day the pace is slower, and the town's main beach is close by for a swim or a walk along the sand. Patong is compact enough to explore on foot, with its shops, markets and beach all within a short stroll of one another.

Patong Beach is 350 m away, and Jungceylon Shopping Center and the night market are both within 300 m. The night market is a good place to eat street food in the evening. Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong), one of the best-known temples on the island, is 6.6 km away, and the Big Buddha statue on its hilltop is 7.5 km from the hostel. Kata and Karon beaches lie further along the coast, and the Phuket FantaSea show is 7.2 km away.

A day could start at Chaithararam Temple and the Big Buddha, both several kilometres from Patong and best reached by road. Back in town, the beach suits the afternoon, and Bangla Road and the night market fill the evening.
