Khetwarin Resort

The rooms at Khetwarin Resort can include air conditioning, a shower, a refrigerator and free bottled water. The superior room covers 32 m² and sleeps up to three guests, with a choice of bed set-ups.

Amphawa is a canal town in Samut Songkhram province, in central Thailand, where traditional wooden houses line the waterways and daily life follows the water. Khetwarin Resort is in the Ban Prok area of the town, with the canals and the streets nearby. It makes a quieter stop for travellers who want the canals and the markets rather than the big cities.

Wat Chong Lom, 1.1 km from the resort, is one of the temples of the town, and the Amphawa Floating Market, 2 km away, is a canal market where many vendors sell from boats and along the water. The Amphawa Thai Dessert Museum, 2.3 km away, is devoted to Thai sweets, and the Maeklong Railway Market, 3.3 km away, is set up beside the tracks, where a train runs straight through the stalls. Wat Nang Wang and King Rama II Memorial Park are also nearby, and the Amphawa Bus Station lies in the town itself.

A day could start at the floating market, continue with the dessert museum and the railway market, and end with a visit to one of the temples before returning to the resort's garden. The King Rama II Memorial Park offers a quieter break from the markets, and the canals make the whole area easy to see at an unhurried pace.
