Khaolak Wanaburee Resort

The rooms at Khaolak Wanaburee Resort measure between 40 and 102 m², and several look out over the garden, while one has a pool view. Rooms can have air conditioning, an in-room safe, a desk, a seating area, a mini bar, a refrigerator and a balcony or terrace, along with toiletries and a hair dryer.

Khao Lak is a beach area on the Andaman coast of Phang Nga province, and the resort is in Khuk Khak, part of Takuapa district. The area is shaped by its beach resorts and by the memory of the 2004 tsunami, which struck this coast hard, and the Tsunami Memorial is 1.7 km away. Phuket International Airport is 58.4 km away, and it is the nearest airport in the surroundings.

Sunset Beach and Nang Thong Beach are both about 50 m away, so the sand is close, and the coast is part of the everyday setting of the stay. Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park is 850 m away, with forest trails and waterfalls, and the Tsunami Museum is also in the area. Trips to the Similan Islands, which are part of Similan National Park 6.6 km from the resort, run by boat from the coast and depend on sea conditions.

A day could combine the beach with a visit to the Tsunami Museum and the Bang Niang Market, both reached by road. The market sells food and everyday goods, and the memorials along the coast are a reminder of the history of the place before a swim or a walk in the national park.
