Khaolak Blue Lagoon Resort

Khaolak Blue Lagoon Resort is built around villa accommodation. The Superior Villa, at 50 m², and the One-Bedroom Villa, at 60 m², both have a garden view, air conditioning and a private bathroom. The One-Bedroom Villa has a balcony or terrace.

The Deluxe Villa, 1 Double Bed, at 60 m², and the Superior Villa, 1 Double Bed, at 55 m², are both non-smoking and sleep up to four guests. The Villa Deluxe sleeps up to three guests, and the VILLA SUPERIOR WITH DOUBLE BED is also one of the resort's villas.

Khaolak Blue Lagoon Resort has an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a terrace, along with a bar and restaurants on site. Food delivery is also available, and English and Thai are spoken at the resort. Non-smoking rooms are offered as well, and the public areas are air-conditioned.

Practical services include luggage storage, safety deposit boxes and a laundry service, and a business centre offers xerox and fax. Tours can be arranged, an airport transfer is offered, and car hire is also available.

Free parking is available, and free Wi-Fi covers all rooms, with Wi-Fi also in the public areas. The garden and the terrace give guests outdoor space away from the pool, and the bar and restaurants sit on the resort grounds.

Khao Lak is a stretch of Thailand's Andaman coast in Phang Nga province, where forested hills run down toward the sand. Khao Lak was rebuilt after the 2004 tsunami struck this shore, and today it combines village streets, small beach strips and national parkland. Khuk Khak Beach is the nearest beach to the resort, about 100 m away, which puts the sea and the forest close together.

The Tsunami Museum, 2.6 km from the resort, documents the disaster that struck this coast in 2004, and Bang Niang Beach and the Bangnieng Afternoon Market are close by too. Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, 6.8 km away, has forest trails and waterfalls, and Ton Chong Fa Waterfall is also nearby, while Lampi Waterfall, 2.5 km from the resort, is a shorter trip. Similan National Park is 12.6 km away, and boat trips to the Similan Islands leave from the Khao Lak coast.

A good first day could start with a swim at Khuk Khak Beach, continue with a walk to the waterfalls of the national park, and end at the Bangnieng Afternoon Market. Day trips by boat to the Similan Islands are a separate outing from the coast, so they need a day of their own.
