Khaolak Bhandari Resort & Spa

The rooms at Khaolak Bhandari Resort & Spa are Thai-style rooms and bungalows measuring 32 to 50 m², and some look out over the garden while others face the pool. Each room sleeps between two and four guests, and the beds are king, queen, double or single depending on the room.

Several rooms have a bathtub, and the Thai Style Bungalow has a whirlpool bathtub. Garden views and pool views are both offered, so guests can choose a room that looks onto the grounds or onto the pool. Bathrobes, hair dryers and toiletries are provided in several rooms, and rooms can also have air conditioning, a mini bar, a refrigerator, a coffee and tea maker and an in-room safe.

Facilities include an outdoor and an indoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, and a spa offering massage, body scrubs, a sauna and a steamroom. The grounds also have gardens and a terrace, and the resort has a private beach.

Dining covers breakfast, lunch and dinner at the restaurant, with a poolside bar, room service and food delivery. Buffet breakfast and a buffet in the restaurant are offered, and fruit and snacks are available.

Khao Lak is a coastal area on the Andaman side of Phangnga province, where long beaches run below forested hills and village life is relaxed. Nang Thong Beach is 150 m from the resort, and everyday shops, a supermarket and a pharmacy are a few hundred metres away. Sunset Beach lies further along the same coast, so guests can explore one stretch of sand after another.

The Tsunami Memorial stands close by, and the Tsunami Museum and the Police Boat 813 memorial, a patrol boat swept inland by the 2004 tsunami, recall the disaster that struck this coast. Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, 2.4 km away, has forest trails and waterfalls, and Similan National Park, 8.1 km from the hotel, is a group of islands reached by boat and known for diving. Bang Niang Market, a local market with food stalls, is also nearby, and Ton Chong Fa Waterfall lies near the national park for a day of walking.

A good day could start at the Tsunami Museum, continue into Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, and end with an evening at the resort's spa. Phuket International Airport is 59.9 km away for those arriving by air. Krabi International Airport is further away, so the drive from there is longer.
