Khao Sok Rain Forest Resort

Rooms at Khao Sok Rain Forest Resort measure between 30 and 40 m² and sleep from two to five guests. Several have a river view or a mountain view, and most come with a private bathroom and a shower.

Bed set-ups vary from single and double beds to queen and king beds, and some rooms offer a choice of arrangements. Rooms can have air conditioning, a refrigerator, a desk and a flat-screen TV, and some have a balcony or terrace.

The outdoor swimming pool, the garden and the terrace are the main shared spaces, and a children's swimming pool is available too. A massage service is available, and activities include hiking, canoeing, boating, non-motorised water sports and karaoke. Khao Sok sits in the hills of Surat Thani province, inland from the coast, and the resort stands among rainforest and river valleys at the edge of the national park. The area is quiet and green, with limestone hills rising around the valley, and the forest is the main attraction.

Khao Sok National Park is 500 m from the resort, and its forest trails and waterfalls are the main reason to visit. Wing Hin and Mae Yai are both waterfalls in the surrounding forest, and the Khao Sok Valley Viewpoint offers wide views over the valley. Wat Tham Panthurat, a Buddhist temple, is a short distance away, and an elephant sanctuary is also nearby. The rooms looking over the river and the mountains make the resort a natural place to return to after a day in the forest, and the trails begin close enough to walk to from the resort.

For a full day out, start early at the national park, visit the Khao Sok Valley Viewpoint and the waterfalls, and return to the resort in the afternoon. Surat Thani Airport is the nearest airport, 72.2 km away, and the last stretch of the journey to the resort is by road.
