Khao Sok Backpacker Hostel

Every room at Khao Sok Backpacker Hostel has a mountain view, air conditioning and a balcony or terrace, and towels and linens are provided in each one. Rooms run from a 12 m² room with a bunk bed and a shared bathroom to double, king and twin rooms with private bathrooms, each with a shower and toiletries.

The double, king and twin rooms each have a private bathroom with a hair dryer. The double room has a queen bed, the king room has a king bed and the twin room has two single beds, and the king and twin rooms also have a refrigerator.

Free WiFi is available in all rooms and in the public areas, and the hostel has free parking. Guests can use the shared lounge and TV area and the terrace, and lockers are offered for belongings. Air conditioning is fitted in the public areas as well as in the rooms.

Khao Sok is a small village in the hills of Surat Thani province, in southern Thailand, and the land around it is mostly rainforest and limestone cliffs. The hostel is in the village itself, and much of the area's appeal comes from Khao Sok National Park, whose trails run through the rainforest. With the village this small, most days here are spent outdoors, on a walk, at a viewpoint or back at the hostel.

Khao Sok National Park is 1.5 km from the hostel, and the Khao Sok Valley Viewpoint is 850 m away, a lookout over the forested valley. The monkey pond and Wat Tham Panthurat are also close by, and the Wing Hin waterfall lies 1.7 km away while Mae Yai waterfall is 3.4 km away, both set in the forest that covers the area.

Back at the hostel, a Thai massage or an oil massage makes a fitting end to a day on the trails, and the laundry service can clean the clothes worn on the paths. The nearest airport is Surat Thani Airport, 72.9 km away, and the rest of the journey to Khao Sok is by road. Hiking is offered from the hostel, so the national park's trails can be combined with a visit to the viewpoint and the waterfalls.
