Khao Lak Summer House Resort

Every room at Khao Lak Summer House Resort has air conditioning. Sizes run from 15 m² in the Double Room to 32 m² in the Bungalow, and the Bungalow, Standard Room, Superior Room and Standard Triple Room each sleep up to three guests, and the Double Room sleeps two.

Pool views come with the Bungalow and the Superior Room, and a garden view comes with the Standard Room. The Double Room has a King bed, and the Standard Triple Room has a single bed and a queen bed. The Double Room and the Standard Triple Room both have a balcony or terrace, and baby cots are available on request.

Khao Lak Summer House Resort has an outdoor swimming pool, an indoor swimming pool and a children's swimming pool, plus a terrace. For meals there is a restaurant, a bar, a coffee shop and room service.

Bang Niang sits on the Andaman coast of Phang Nga province, where Khao Lak's sandy beach runs past a village of small resorts, guesthouses and massage places. Khao Lak is reached by road from Phuket International Airport, 62.2 km away, and from Krabi.

Bang Niang Beach is 350 m away, and the International Tsunami Museum is about 850 m from the resort, telling the story of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami that struck this coast. Ton Chong Fa Waterfall and Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park, about 4.6 km inland, offer forest trails and waterfalls, while the Similan National Park islands, 10.4 km away, are reached by boat from the coast and are known for snorkelling and diving. Taxi service and car hire are offered at the resort for trips to the waterfall and the national park.

A good day could start on the beach and at the tsunami museum in the morning, then move to the waterfall and the national park trails in the afternoon. Travellers who want more than the sea can combine the beach with inland trips, and the Similan trips, which leave from the coast, depend on the season and sea conditions. Boats are often cancelled in the rainy months, so the sea is the first thing to check before planning a trip out to the islands.
