Ao Nang is a beach town on the Andaman coast of Krabi, on the mainland of southern Thailand. Its long bay of sand is lined with a lively strip of food stalls, massage shops and tour desks, and limestone cliffs rise above the beach at its edges. The village streets behind the beach hold small shops, guesthouses and a mosque.
Ao Nang Beach is 1.4 km from the hotel, and the piers at the end of the bay run longtail boats to the nearby islands. Railay, which is reached only by boat, is 2.2 km away, and its limestone cliffs and beaches, including the cave of Phra Nang, are a popular trip from Ao Nang. Poda and Tup islands are also reached by boat from the piers. Krabi International Airport is on the mainland, and Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), a hillside temple reached by a long climb, is 14 km away.
