Wat Pho, a temple 1.1 km away, is one of several pagodas in the area, and the Night Market, 1.7 km away, is an evening market where local food and goods are on sale. Getting around the island is usually by motorbike or taxi.

A good day could begin with a walk to Wat Nai pagoda, continue with a stop at Haad Baan Kai beach, and end with a visit to the Phaeng Noi waterfall. Samui Airport is on the neighbouring island of Ko Samui, so the last leg of any trip to Ko Pha-ngan is by boat. Staying here keeps the trip simple, with the beaches and temples close by.
