Accommodation at Katathani Phuket Beach Resort ranges from garden-view and pool-view rooms to junior suites, family rooms and the Grand Suite, with ocean views in several of them. Room sizes start at 40 m², and rooms can have air conditioning, a desk, a refrigerator, a balcony or terrace, and a window that opens.

Bathrooms can include a bathtub, a shower, a hair dryer, bathrobes and toiletries, and rooms can have slippers, towels and an ironing facility. Capacity goes up to four guests in some room types, and the Deluxe Room sleeps four. Guests can choose between suites and rooms for two to four guests, depending on their group.

Kata is a sandy bay on the Phuket coast, with a beach road lined by restaurants, bars and small shops. It has a calmer feel than Patong, the island's busiest beach town, and the resort sits a short way from the sand. The wider bay has several beaches close together, each with its own character.

Kata Noi Beach is 150 m from the resort and Kata Beach is 750 m, while Karon Beach lies 2.5 km further along the coast. Big Buddha Phuket, the white statue on a hilltop, is 2.7 km away, and Chaithararam Temple, better known as Wat Chalong, is 6 km away and one of the most revered temples on the island. Phuket FantaSea, a cultural theme park with evening shows, is further afield, and Patong lies further along the coast. Phuket Town, the island's old capital and known for its Sino-Portuguese shophouses, lies further north, a longer drive from the resort.

A good day could begin with a swim or a walk on Kata Beach, continue with a visit to Big Buddha or Wat Chalong, and end with dinner at the resort's restaurants or an evening at Phuket FantaSea. For a livelier night, Bangla Road is the best known street in Patong.
