Kata Leaf Resort

Within a short drive are Karon Beach, 1.7 km away, and the Big Buddha Phuket, 1.9 km away, a large seated statue on a hilltop above Chalong. The temple of Wat Chalong, 5.3 km away, is one of the most revered on the island, and Patong, Phuket's best-known beach town, is also reachable by road. Getting around is usually by taxi, songthaew or scooter. Phuket International Airport is 32.9 km away, and the island is linked to the mainland by a bridge, so the airport is reached by road.

A full day might start with a swim on Kata Beach, continue with a visit to the Big Buddha and the Wat Chalong temple, and finish with an evening at the Kata Open Market, a short distance from the resort. Each stop is a short drive from the last, so the route works well by taxi or scooter, and the evening can be spent back on the beach road.
