Kamala Resort and Spa

All the suites at Kamala Resort and Spa have city views and air conditioning, and Wi-Fi is free in all rooms. Depending on the suite, you can have a balcony or terrace, a refrigerator, a flat-screen TV or a coffee and tea maker. Floor space runs from 68 m² to 114 m² across the suites.

The junior suite measures 68 m² and sleeps up to three guests. The 88 m² two-bedroom suite and the 114 m² penthouse each sleep up to five, so a group can stay together in a single suite. The two-bedroom suite has a refrigerator, and the penthouse has a balcony or terrace with a city view.

The resort's facilities centre on two swimming pools, one outdoor and one indoor, and a spa with a sauna, hot tub, massage and yoga room. A fitness centre and a garden round out the leisure options, and the building has an elevator.

Families have a kids club, a children's swimming pool and babysitting. For meals, the resort has restaurants and a shared kitchen, and a buffet breakfast is offered.

Free parking is available on site, and there is a 24-hour front desk, daily housekeeping, laundry and dry cleaning. There is an airport transfer, and car hire, a shuttle service, bicycle rental and tours are also offered. English and Thai are spoken.

Kamala is a village on Phuket's shore, quieter than neighbouring Patong, where the beach is the main reason to stay. The village has a seafood and fruit market and a Muay Thai gym, both a short walk from the resort, and the pace is calmer than in the busier beach areas around Patong. Kamala Rock Beach, another stretch of sand, is also within walking distance of the resort.

Kamala Beach is 550 m away, and Patong Beach, with the nightlife of Bangla Road, lies 4.7 km off by road. Phuket FantaSea, a large cultural theme park with evening shows, is 1.6 km from the resort, and the hilltop Big Buddha is a longer trip away. Phuket International Airport is 18.8 km away, and the island is linked to the mainland by a bridge, so the whole journey is by road.

A good day here starts on the sand at Kamala, continues with a stroll through the seafood market, and ends with an evening in Patong. For a different afternoon, the Big Buddha, the temples of Chalong and Bang Wan Waterfall are worth the longer trip, while the Kamala Night Market is a good place to browse the stalls after dark.
