Small eateries and shops line the nearby streets, and the town has a calmer pace than the beaches.

Close to the hotel, the Andaman Museum is 800 m away, and the Krabi Weekend Night Market, 1.6 km away, comes to life on weekends with food stalls and local goods. Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea), 5.5 km away, is a hilltop Buddhist temple reached by a long staircase. Ao Nang Beach, 10.7 km away, is a beach strip with restaurants and tour boats, and Railay, reached only by boat, is known for its limestone cliffs. Krabi International Airport is 8.2 km away.

For the islands, the piers in town, such as Chaofa Pier, are the starting point, and Poda and Tup are reached by longtail boat. A good day could start at the Andaman Museum, continue to the Tiger Cave Temple and end at the night market on a weekend. The Lomprayah Bus Terminal is nearby, a useful stop for onward bus travel.
