Limestone scenery and boat trips are close at hand from the beach.

The limestone cliffs define the scenery around the bay. Railay, a peninsula reached by longtail boat from the piers at Ao Nang, lies 2.2 km away, and its beaches sit between tall cliffs. Phra Nang Cave, 3.4 km away on the same peninsula, is a cave beach that draws day visitors. Closer to town, the Ao Nang Night Market fills in the evening with food stalls, and Poda and Tup islands are reached by boat too, with beaches and snorkelling.

Boats from the piers in Ao Nang reach Railay, Poda and Tup, and longer trips go to the Hong Islands. Sea conditions can disrupt boat trips in the rainy season. Krabi International Airport is 18.2 km away, and Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tham Suea) is a hillside temple complex for those who want a visit inland.
